DCI Toni Valetta

But, maybe, it wasn't totally my fault that I lost the heat of the Italian Cooking Competition. Maybe it was the fault of my tutor and mentor, Chef Rocco Rossini, for getting murdered two weeks before the competition.

I came into the kitchen, on the morning of my usual weekly lesson, to find Chef Rocco, expired on the floor; I called the Police immediately, showed the forensic examiner, Dr Alberto Martini, where the body was and was asked to wait for the senior investigator to arrive as I had to give a formal statement to the police.

As the forensics were coming to the end of their initial inspection, in walked DCI Toni Valetta.

- DCI Toni Valetta: "Hey, Alberto! What's the story?"

- Dr Martini: "A frenzied pasta attack … I've never seen anything like it."

- DCI Toni Valetta: "How long's this chef been here?"

- Dr Martini: "Given the advanced rigatoni, I'd say at least 48 hours."
